Accessibility
The Mills College Art Museum strives to make contemporary art accessible and approachable.
The museum entrance can be reached via wheelchair accessible ramp or by climbing a set of seven steps with a handrail. The gallery allows for manual and electric wheelchairs, electric mobility scooters, and other power-driven mobility devices.
Visitors can access all-gender restrooms in the Art & Visual Culture Department, located 125 feet from the museum across the plaza. Restrooms are wheelchair accessible with automatic doors. The Art Department doors are not automatic, but a museum staff member can open them for you if you would like assistance.
Exhibition wall labels are printed in 16-point type. We have both print and digital visitors guides in a minimum of 20-point type. MCAM is happy to offer tours for all visitors. While our staff are not trained to give descriptive sight tours, they can provide some interpretation and content information.
For programs and events, please let us know if you require specific accommodations or other assistance in order to participate.
