Student Employment Opportunities

At Mills College Art Museum, enrolled Mills students have the opportunity to work alongside museum staff as assistants in the gallery, administrative offices, and collection areas.

Gallery Assistants
Gallery assistants ensure the safety and security of the art and gallery, assist with visitors’ questions and inquiries related to exhibitions and events, participate in artist and curator tours and lectures, sell exhibition publications, and assist with the logistics of public programs.
Publicity Assistants
Publicity assistants send press materials to local and national publications; research publicity targets for current and upcoming exhibitions; respond to general exhibition inquiries; collect images, reviews, and listings; and update mailing lists.
Collections Assistant
Assistant registrars work with the museum staff to catalog recent acquisitions, photograph objects in the collection, update the electronic database, and create condition reports for incoming objects.
